About The New-York Weekly Journal

Founded originally in 1733 by John Peter Zenger, The New-York Weekly Journal is one of America's oldest and most significant newspapers. Renowned for its groundbreaking defense of free speech and freedom of the press, the Journal notably played a pivotal role in the landmark Zenger Trial of 1735, which established critical precedents for press independence and accountability.

Throughout its early history, The New-York Weekly Journal was influential in shaping colonial and revolutionary sentiment, actively engaging with the political and social issues of its time. After centuries of historical significance, the Journal was eventually discontinued.

On April 5, 2025, visionary leaders Shovon Ahmed and Mann Patel revived and reestablished The New-York Weekly Journal, honoring its historic legacy while adapting it for the modern digital age. Shovon Ahmed serves as the CEO, providing strategic oversight and editorial guidance, while Mann Patel, CTO and founder of MxnnCreates, spearheads technological innovation and digital transformation for the platform.

Under their combined leadership, The New-York Weekly Journal delivers incisive, unbiased reporting on local, national, and international affairs, covering critical areas including politics, business, technology, culture, and lifestyle. Shovon Ahmed’s extensive experience ensures journalistic rigor, integrity, and transparency, while Mann Patel's pioneering expertise drives the Journal’s cutting-edge digital presence.

Our ongoing mission remains faithful to the Journal’s founding values: advocating free speech, promoting informed public discourse, and empowering civic engagement. As we embark on this new era, we invite you to join us in continuing a legacy that began nearly three centuries ago.

Thank you for supporting and engaging with The New-York Weekly Journal.
