The Israeli military has confirmed that its fighter jets launched coordinated strikes on multiple command centers of Iran’s Quds Force, a powerful division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) headquartered in Tehran.
According to an official statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the targeted command centers were actively involved in “advancing terrorist operations against Israel,” using proxy networks supported by the Iranian regime throughout the Middle East.
Scope of the Strikes
The IDF released video footage identifying at least 10 distinct locations in Tehran as Quds Force or IRGC-affiliated military assets. These strikes reportedly marked one of the deepest Israeli penetrations into Iranian territory to date.
The airstrikes come as part of a broader retaliation following Iranian missile attacks on Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, earlier this week. Tensions remain at critical levels across the region.

About the Quds Force
The Quds Force, established during the Iran–Iraq War in the 1980s, is Iran’s elite foreign operations unit, responsible for intelligence, covert operations, and military coordination with groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Syrian regime. It serves as the IRGC’s strategic wing for external influence and asymmetric warfare.
The force plays a major role in Iran’s military alliances across Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Gaza, often through non-state militias and armed proxies.
Leadership Changes Following Strike
The Israeli air campaign earlier this month also killed IRGC Commander Hossein Salami, one of the most senior figures in Iran’s military structure. He has since been replaced by General Ahmed Vahidi, a former defense minister and longtime operative within the Quds Force.
Strategic and Diplomatic Implications
These strikes represent a direct escalation between Israel and Iran, moving beyond traditional proxy conflict toward open-state targeting. While the Israeli government maintains that the Quds Force poses a “clear and immediate threat,” Iran has vowed a measured yet forceful response.
Military analysts are closely watching for potential Hezbollah mobilization in Lebanon, as well as any long-range retaliation efforts from Iran-linked networks across Iraq and Syria.
